DMC Soft Cotton is a matt tapestry thread, combed and singed by flame to remove fluff to give 5 inseparable cotton strands.
Flexible and soft, it is easy to work in half cross stitch and long stitch. It is ideal for wall tapestries, and especially suited to decorative tapestry such as chairs etc.
For cushion covers that undergo more wear and tear, it is better to use petit-point. This stitch creates a firm weave at the back of the canvas, which in turn helps to strengthen the end product.
Soft cotton is also popular with children learning to cross-stitch, as it's slightly easier to work with than the stranded cotton.
