Yarns By Gauge
Just to make the search a little easier, we've categorised our yarns into gauges - so if you're looking for a double-knit yarn, you don't need to browse through all the different designers!
For a helpful explanation of yarn gauges (thickness), together with a useful guide to estimating amount of yarn required, see our Yarn Comparison Guide
Of course many of the fashion yarns don't fit neatly into any of the above categories. We've therefore done our best put them into the 'nearest-fit' gauge. However, we advise extreme caution when using a yarn other than what your pattern recommends, and you will certainly need to knit up a tension square to see whether your chosen yarn knits up to that indicated in your pattern! We hope this is helpful advice, but is also our disclaimer to say that we can't take responsbility for your knitting results on the basis of our yarn gauge guide! :-)
