We love this stuff!  60-gauge 2-ply YLI 'Soft-Touch' thread, ideal as a bobbin thread for patchwork quilting with any top colour - although we use it for almost everything, top and bottom!

YLI Soft Touch is a low lint, 60/2 ply mercerized Egyptian cotton thread. It is strong but has a superb snap point. Introduced initially as a wonderful bobbin thread that balances easily against most upper threads, Soft Touch has quickly gained popularity as a great piecing thread and it is wonderful when used in hand and machine applique. It is also a great heirloom quilting thread and can be used for lace making and fine embroidery.

  • 60/2 ply extra long staple Egyptian cotton
  • Low lint and smooth
  • Bobbin, piecing, heirloom quilting, lace, appliqué
  • For patchwork piecing, use with size 70 needle
  • For hand appliqué, use with John James Sharp size 11
